I’m Victor Matos, the proud owner of Victor Matos Financial Services Inc, operating as a mortgage agent, insurance, and investments advisor.

I realized early on that I had a strong financial acumen and enjoyed working with numbers, budgeting, and long-term planning, so I joined a major Canadian bank. After eleven years of seeing their side of the business, I decided the time was right to start a new venture.
Having gained a solid professional background in banking, I became a mortgage agent in 2001. After six years, in 2007, I diversified and incorporated the roles of a licensed insurance broker and investment advisor.
When I started my business, it was more paper-based, and there were few resources available. With the onset of social media and web-based applications, it has enabled my services to be better applied and created more options for clients.
I persevere when a family encounters an unusual challenge, and sometimes work several months to prepare them so that they can qualify for a mortgage. It’s rewarding when I can help a client get out of a sticky situation.
I’ve lifted people up so that they can start again after bankruptcy, assisted newcomers to Canada, and empowered first time home buyers that are not familiar with the mortgage process. I attribute my achievements to being straightforward and telling the truth while responding to everyone, even if it’s terrible news. Often, I give clients the advice they do not like to hear, but they acknowledge that it’s in their best interest.
I focus on educating clients, so they can decide on what services they want to adopt, based on the information that I provide. I don’t sell or impose anything that I would not buy or accept myself. Most of my clients are repeat clients, which means that I must be doing something right.
My success over the years has allowed me to open my office in a commercial location where I could keep my resources and meet clients in a comfortable environment. That said, I’m still flexible to meet clients at their workplace and in coffee shops, at their homes, or anywhere else that’s comfortable for them.
When I’m not assisting clients, I enjoy spending time with loved ones and believe family is the most important institution. During my downtime, I also get away from the city as often as possible, as I love nature and outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and fishing.
